This is the third week Jie and I are chatting across thousands of miles.  She is Shanghai and I am in Bloomfield, New Jersey.  I teach on Fridays and then come home two hours before getting ready to chat with Jie.  We are exchanging views about online courses.  She wants to develop a course in reading and speaking, but she needs to convince her colleagues that one can learn in a computer-mediated environment.  It's not an easy thing to do!
